Superintendent, Replenishment & Logistics
About the role
Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) is hiring a Superintendent, Replenishment & Logistics for the Inventory & Logistics Department of its Distribution Services Division. The superintendent manages material replenishment for the main warehouse and all distribution centres, leads logistics and delivery operations, and supervises and develops the replenishment and logistics team.
Responsibilities
- Manage replenishment to optimise inventory levels at the main warehouse and all distribution centres, based on minimum and maximum thresholds
- Develop long-term material management and supply chain strategies focused on cost savings, sustainability and future demand
- Plan and manage budgets for material ordering and logistics
- Create risk management and contingency plans for material shortages, logistics delays and market volatility
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, transportation and delivery scheduling
- Set performance metrics and KPIs for material management and logistics
- Supervise, train and mentor the replenishment and logistics team, including staffing and performance reviews for the Stores department
- Serve as the main contact for external logistics providers, negotiating contracts and managing service-level agreements
- Report regularly to management and drive continuous process improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational standards and company policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field
- Eight (8) years of experience in logistics, transportation, fuel operations or supply chain management, including multi-site operations
- At least five (5) years of supervisory or management experience
- Experience in strategic planning, budget management, vendor management, risk management and performance management
- Proficiency in financial reporting and inventory management software, including Great Plains and a requisitions system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid Class A driver’s licence
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree or professional certification such as APICS or CILT
