About the role

BFREE is hiring a full-time Organic Gardener. Reporting to the Executive Director, the gardener keeps BFREE’s gardens and orchard productive, clean and well kept to supply the kitchen. The position starts on 15 November 2026.

Responsibilities

Plant, grow and harvest crops without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers or hormones
Care for the chickens and maintain their coop, yard and fence
Manage composting and monitor soil health
Control pests and weeds using organic methods
Keep records to organic-certification standards
Maintain garden tools
Assist the grounds keeper

Requirements

One year of experience as an organic gardener, on your own farm or in a professional farm setting
Excellent gardening skills
Problem-solving skills and adaptability
Fluent English
