About the role

Harvest Caye, Norwegian Cruise Line’s island destination in southern Belize (operated by Belize Island Holdings Ltd.), is hiring a Lifeguard to maintain beach and pool safety on ship days, when up to 4,000 cruise guests visit, and to help sell island activities and dispatch tours. The role reports to the Lifeguard Supervisor. The work is outdoors, on sandy and slippery surfaces and in open water.

Responsibilities

Maintain beach and pool safety for guests
Respond to emergencies using radios, whistles, flags and rescue equipment such as jet skis, rescue boards and kayaks
Maintain beach and pool equipment and take inventories
Disinfect snorkel gear
Take part in safety drills
Promote and sell island activities and help dispatch tours

Requirements

2 years of resort hospitality experience
Lifeguard certification
First Aid and CPR certification (minimum PADI Emergency First Responder, Red Cross or equivalent)
Intermediate Word and Excel skills
Intermediate to advanced English
High school diploma
Strong swimmer
Able to work 7 days a week
