About the role

Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) is hiring Apprentice Power Line Technicians for the Distribution Operations Department of its Distribution & Energy Solutions Division. Apprentices receive company-based training towards becoming qualified Power Line Technicians, with opportunities to progress to supervisory and management levels. Positions are available in Belize City, Belmopan, Dangriga, Independence, Punta Gorda and San Pedro. The recruitment process includes a 2-day physical boot camp in Orange Walk. Steel-toe boots are mandatory; accommodation and meals are provided.

Requirements

Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
Ability to work in a team with good collaborative skills
Reliable and self-motivated
Planning and organisation skills with good attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Action and results oriented
Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
Valid driver’s licence for manual transmission
