AML Compliance Officer
About the role
Oversee the company’s compliance programme and help ensure adherence to Belizean laws, regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role suits an experienced, detail-oriented compliance professional.
Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements
- Implement and regularly review compliance policies and procedures
- Conduct compliance reviews, risk assessments and required checks
- Manage AML/CFT/PF monitoring, due diligence and record keeping
- Prepare reports and coordinate audits and regulatory inspections
- Maintain accurate and confidential compliance files and registers
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise management
- Provide compliance guidance and training to employees
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance or a related field
- At least two years of experience in compliance, corporate services, fiduciary services or a regulated-agent setting
- Knowledge of the Belize Companies Act and Belize AML/CFT/PF framework
- Practical knowledge of KYC, customer due diligence and risk-based procedures
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
